Religion
Today is Ash Wednesday. If you did not watch the video posted yesterday, please take some time to view it. What three things are we called to do during Lent? Father John mentioned these things during mass today. Finish your Lenten foot, make sure you include something you are going to sacrifice and something you are going to do to be like Jesus. Here's video reviewing the gospel reading for today:

Math
We continued changing units of length. When we move from a large unit to a small unit we MULTIPLY. When we move from a small unit to a large unit we divide. The number of hops between units tells us how much. One hop 10, two hops 100 and three hops 1000.

When we multiply, the decimal moves to the right. When we divide the decimal moves to the left. Try to answer these questions

40 cm = _____ mm.
We are hopping from a large to smaller unit, so we multiply. It is one hop so we multiply by 10

40 x 10 = 400 mm

75 mm = _____ cm
We are hopping from a small unit to a larger unit, so we divide. It is one hop so we divide by 10.

75 ÷ 10 = 7.5 cm Dividing by ten moves the decimal one to the left.
Try these:

Practice your multiplication facts using either the flashcards or the multiplication bag. Please return your material tomorrow for someone else to use.

Today we reviewed some excellent level 4 character answers for Luba. The example will be posted in class. Please use it as a guide.

Tomorrow is Dr. Suess'  birthday. On Friday, we will be reading Dr. Suess books with our buddies. If you have a Dr. Suess book(s) at home, please bring it on Friday.
