Math
Today in math we began Algebra. Watch a little bit of the video below to help review the idea behind algebra. Always think of a scale when you try to solve equations. Some words important algebra words:

Try to solve these equations. Remember, division is written in fraction format (the line means divide).

Sophie spends 30 minutes every day on homework. Write an expression to show the amount of time Sophie spends on homework any day.

Use that expression to find out how much time Sophie spends on homework in 3 weeks.

Please make sure you get ALL THREE SHEETS  on transformations signed and corrected. You will be having a  quiz on Friday. Remember to translate and reflect points before drawing transformed shape.

Science
Everyone has completed their elbow joint. Make sure you understand how the arm moves. You model doesn't work exactly as it does in the actual elbow joint, but that's okay. Make sure you can explain how your muscles make your bones move. Words you should use in your  answers
bicep, triceps, tendon, muscle, contract, signal from brain, contract, relax, lengthen, shorten, bone (radius, ulna, humerus)

Reminders:

  • Roof top photo tomorrow (grade 5 wear green shirt and blue bottom, grade 4 uniform)
  • Track and Field rescheduled for Thursday
  • Permission form and money for end of the year field trip
