More review of rounding with the grade fives. Some students are still having difficulty understanding the rounded numbers the actual number is between. Please watch the video and do the examples.

After our exciting power outage.... we began our discussion of decimals. A decimal is less than a whole. We use the base-ten blocks to show decimals.

Use the following link to practice recognizing decimals. Remember, when we read a decimal, we say "and" for the decimal.

Try these:

Tomorrow we will work in groups to express a decimal in standard form, expanded forms, words, place value chart, number line and with blocks.

Literacy
Stretchy sentences should be finished for the week. Please make sure you place tests (complete or incomplete) in the test bin. Tests that go home cannot be used for assessment.

Terry Fox Run
Thank you to all students who brought a toonie or more for Terry. The money you raised today could help loved ones in the future defeat cancer.

Reminders:

  • Tomorrow is a dress down day.
  • Go on Prodigy to practice your numeracy skills!
  • PLEASE RETURN ALL NIGHTHAWK SHIRTS!
