Math
We continued working on patterns in charts. Grade fours used pattern blocks to build an Inukshuk and then determined the amount of Inuksuit they could build using 20 large pattern blocks.
Grade fives were looking at growing shape patterns. Remember to find the shape before to determine how the next shape was created.
Draw the next two shapes following the pattern then write the pattern using a t-chart:
Look at past posts to find other practice questions.
Whenever finding number patterns using charts, look for patterns down charts and across charts as well.
Literacy
Remember to complete your two open-response Literacy questions when you come into school tomorrow.
Question #1: What did Lindsay mean when she said, "This isn't about baseball."
Question #2: What do you think is the author's opinion about girls and boys playing on the same team?
Science
By tomorrow you should be finished your chart using your rock collection. Tomorrow you will be choosing two different rocks and using your chart to write a paragraph explaining the properties of your rocks and how you determined their identification and classification.
Religion
If you have not brought in your materials for your time capsule, please bring them in as soon as possible. Remember, five objects representing five family traditions. Bring in different items to decorate your container. Creativity and effort are part of your assessment!
