Mass
On Friday Father John led us once again in mass at St. George. Father spoke of the many ways that we prepare for Christmas. Most students focused on the decorations, shopping, baking etc. and forgot all about preparing our hearts for the coming of Jesus. Remember your Advent goals on the door? Review the meaning of Advent using the video below:

Math
Geometry Test #2 on Tuesday.
Possible questions for Grade 4 Test  (focus quadrilaterals):
Which of the following quadrilaterals are parallelograms? Why? (What is the definition of a parallelogram?)

Sort the quadrilaterals below using a chart.
Sort the quadrilaterals below using a Venn diagram.
Is a square a rectangle? Why or why not?
Draw a quadrilateral with two pairs of the equal sides but no parallel sides.
Draw a quadrilateral with two right angles but only one pair of parallel sides.
How are a rhombus and square the same? How are they different?

Austin is getting ready for his birthday party! He decides he wants to make name tags for his guests, each having the shape of a quadrilateral.

 ·        All the name tags are different looking quadrilaterals

·        Only half the name tags have right angles, two of those are parallelograms

·        Two name tags have at least one line of symmetry and one pair of parallel sides

·        One name tag has opposite sides equal but no parallel sides

How can you make and describe 6 different quadrilateral name tags for Austin’s party?

A.     Draw 6 name tags that fit Austin's rules.

B.     Name and COMPLETELY describe each quadrilateral.

Possible questions for Grade 5 Test (focus on triangles):

Draw two different triangles, each with angle measures of 115° and 30°,
and a side length of 5 cm.
Measure and label the angles in your triangle.
Name the angles as obtuse, acute, or right angles.
Classify the triangles by the sizes of their angles.
