We also practiced multiplying decimals. Remember, the digits are the same as when multiplying whole numbers, you just need to put the decimal in the correct place. If you are multiplying a decimal by 10 or 100 the decimal moves 1 or 2 to the right. Dividing, the decimal moves to the left.
Writing
Students are starting to finish up their wordless story book. I'll be conferencing with students over the next week....
Social Studies
In grade 4, we began our discussion of the natural resources in Ancient Rome and Judea. We focused on farming today. Tomorrow you will make a list of the different farm crops and animals for each society.
In grade 5, we talked about the roles of the different people in the First Nations communities. Tomorrow you will continue working on your mind map.
Science
Next Wednesday, we will be building our model of the elbow joint. Please try to bring cardboard (box). The joint will work better with the strong cardboard.
