Math
Today we talked about EQUIVALENT DECIMALS. What does the word equivalent mean?

Six tenths is equivalent or equal to sixty hundredths because they both are the same amount.

Please keep working on Skills Bank tonight.

Literacy
Today we talked about the importance of MAKING CONNECTIONS when reading. When we make good connections with the characters, the events and the problem, it helps us understand the text. Books or stories that you are able to connect with easily, are books that you're interested in reading for enjoyment. When you're sad after finishing a book, it is probably because you connected with the character and didn't want that to end!

Library
Please make sure you return your books on Wednesdays. If you are "Share a Book" for the week, be prepared to share your picture book during Library.

Science
Thank you to students who brought nails, pennies and sandpaper. Please try to bring some of those items for tomorrow.
Minerals we will be testing:
Calcite, malachite, quartz, feldspar, pyrite, magnetite, fluorite, talc, epidote and olivine.

Find out what you can about their hardness and streak.

Reminders:

  • Return green Nighthawk shirt from cross country.
  • Work on Mathletics.
