I'm very proud of you today. You worked very hard to complete assignments despite not being able to go outside. I felt badly for a few students who couldn't find files. The safest place to save a file is in your documents on your H-drive. Please ask for help. Some of you worked very hard on writing and Power Points, but couldn't retrieve them. Stay positive and bring a memory stick as a backup.
Math
Tomorrow you will get some feedback on your review sheets on coordinates and translations. We'll do a bit more review tomorrow and move onto reflections next week. It's a very short unit, so we'll probably have a test at the end of next week.

Tomorrow you will get your yellow notebook back with some feedback on multiplication and division. Please make sure you go through your mistakes, ask questions at school and home and LEARN YOUR MULTIPLICATION FACTS.

Science
We were unable to work on our joint today. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be able to put it together and talk about the parts.

Circulatory System Test
  • Make sure you can follow a drop of blood through the circulatory system from the lungs to the heart to the body back to the heart and finally back to the lungs. Know what happens at each stop. Some vocabulary words that will be given to you: atrium, ventricle, lungs, heart, pulmonary arteries, pulmonary veins, aorta, carbon dioxide, oxygen, cells, veins, arteries, capillaries
  • parts of the circulatory system (heart, blood, blood vessels - veins, arteries, capillaries)
  • parts of the blood (plasma, platelets, red blood cells, white blood cells) and their jobs
  • divisions of heart (chambers)
  • valves prevent blood from backing up and flowing the wrong way in the heart
  • 3 ways to keep your heart healthy with an explanation for each
  • 1 heart healthy snack and 1 heart unhealthy snack (explain why)

  • outline an experiment showing the effect of exercise on heart rate
  • heart rate of a professional athlete, high or low? Bonus if you can tell why!
From now until the end of the year, we will be working on culminating assignments. Everyone will be at different points so SELF-REGULATION is important.

I can't wait to display your Notan art. They look incredible!
