Math
Today we talked about locating objects on a grid. We use coordinates to show position. Sometimes the coordinates meet where a horizontal and vertical line meet, other times it is a square. The only tricky part of today's lesson was writing where a place on a map was in relation to another.

Please make sure your math test is signed. Look at your mistakes. Make sure you understand your errors.

Writing
Just a few more students need to finish their picture book story. It will take a few days to conference with everyone, so be patient. When you have revised your writing, you make begin publishing your book.

Social Studies
Grade 4:
What were some of the natural resources used in Ancient Rome and Judea? Are they similar to those used in Canada today? Review how the aqueducts work. The Roman aqueducts were truly an engineering marvel!

Grade 5:
How are decisions made at your home? Today we talked about how the First Nations people made decisions by using talking circles. Important decisions were made by consensus. How is consensus different than voting or compromise? What is smudging?
